Maggie Malone surpassed her own American record with a first-round effort of 221-1 (67.40m) in the women's elite section in her debut at the American JavFest at East Stroudsburg South High in Pennsylvania. Malone, who had thrown 219-2 (66.82m) on May 29 at the Chula Vista Field Festival at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in California, elevated to the No. 19 all-time global competitor in her final tuneup before the Tokyo Olympics.
